oh wait.. the dance year isnt over yet

So keira and sienna were a part of the dance performance team "Stars" this year and their year end performance was at Knotts Berry Farm in California! We decided to make a mini vacation out of it and it turned out to be so much fun. We drove to cali on thursday and made it just in time to unpack at the hotel and head out to newport beach to meet some friends for dinner at Mama D's a pretty famous little italian restaurant...it was delish!! On friday we had a beach day and met up with some other dance families for the kids to play, wow it was relaxing to be at the beach...yes even with a million kids running around.. they were just loving it...everyone but mia..it was a little too windy for her :) Saturday was performance day and the girls did so great. It was sort of bittersweet to see them perform just knowing it was the last performance that this group of girls was doing together, alot of the girls are doing different things next year. Anyway we spent the rest of the day doing as many rides as possible and then headed back to the brewery that was in the hotel parking lot for dinner.  We had a lovely breakfast at the hotel on sunday morning before heading back home. The girls all did amazing in the car! Its amazing how you can be gone for 3 days and need to do laundry for the next week to catch up ;)

Hooray for Hollywood!

Recital was such a blast this year! All 3"big" girls were in the afternoon show and then just keira and sienna were in the evening showcase.. between the 3 of them we were juggling 9 costumes! Cant even imagine what next year will be like..both shows were so awesome! Little Mia made it through the first show...barely :) Even Rick got into the action this year..he was part of the dads crew and I seriously think he enjoyed it! They put on a great show!! what good sports..
I chaperoned siennas stars group in the evening and luckily since those girls are pretty young still their moms pretty much came back to help so my job was made easy... I do have to say that those girls still had ALOT of energy for having been going all day long so it was a little like herding small animals :) Overall a huge success and a great end to a crazy dance year.

I just love this time of year... RECITAL time!!! so this year with 3 girls dancing I have 9 costumes to manage during this years recital phew I have a feeling the next two days with dress rehearsal and two shows are going to be a sparkly blur.  This is Jades first year dancing so it has been so fun seeing her all dressed up and with no objections! I literally had tears in my eyes taking these pictures of her..she just looked like a little doll...well we officially made it through 3 days of dance pics..here is a taste of what they looked like

Daisies year end party

Keira has had alot of fun with such a nice group of little girls in Daisies this year! I am really hoping this is something she can continue next year! They have learned lots of great lessons and it was time to celebrate! Their year end party was at build a bear! They each got to make the girl scout thin mint bear..Keira named hers "mint" anyway I was a little disappointed that it didnt smell minty and didnt come with a box of thin mints.. that would have made it alot more exciting for me :) After build a bear we walked a few doors down for a well deserved ice cream and awards!

Keira no longer a kindergartener

The school year blew by! Keira had such a good kindergarten experience.. the school, teachers and friends.. all made the transition to "big girl" full day school an amazing one. Keira didnt skip a beat with school, dancing with the stars performance team, the competitive elite team and ballet plus daisies... on our one free afternoon she was asking what we could be doing LOL She loves to be busy. And busy we are! I think keira matured alot this year and honestly I had prepared myself to see some attitude or sassy stuff at home that I had heard from so many parents can happen and I didnt see anything at all. Keira has so far remained sweet, caring, loving and still a little shy. She loved her kindergarten teacher miss george and will definitely be back to visit her!
