Sienna Lynn is here!! The labor story :)

All I can say is grandma got here just in time!! She arrived on saturday afternoon and got to spend the rest of the afternoon and evening relaxing and hanging out with Keira. Sunday we decided to get some errands done, went out to lunch, took Keira to the park and then had Carey and the boys over for pizza. Little did I realize I had been in labor most of the day. Contractions came and went throughout the day but they got stronger by late afternoon and evening and we even starting timing them during dinner which were 4-5 mins apart, they seemed pretty consistant and we were casually talking about a plan for going to the hospital. After Carey left we watched desperate housewives.. during which I had NO contractions... so I decided to just go to bed. At 9:20 I had a considerably stronger contraction and after that they didnt quit! We decided to go to the hospital, we left the house at 10:30. My friend Melanie came over to spend the night.. since keira was already in bed that worked out perfectly! Actually we couldnt have planned it better if we had tried. At registration I was literally doubling over with contractions but still had to be on the monitors during registration to make sure it was the "real thing" Ok then I was sent off to triage to be ... you guessed it monitored some more to make sure I could be admitted, I was a 3-4cm then. during the hour in triage I progressively got worse and sure enough they admitted me!!!! I was admitted at midnight and they had already ordered the epidural for me which was fantastic because I was in alot of pain! at 12:30 got the epidural at 1:30 I was 8cm! Was checked again at 3:30 and was complete! Sienna Lynn Hattenburg was born at 4:19am. she was 7lbs 6oz 21 ins and just adorable! See for yourself :) She is such a dream come true, she started nursing almost immediately after being born and hasnt stopped since! Ric and grandma were home in time for keira to wake up in the morning and rick brought keira to meet her new sister! The transition has been great, keira seems to love "baby" and is very interested in what she is doing. keiras idea of being gentle is not necessarily what most would consider gentle.... but we are working on that!! I think Sienna will be a tough little cookie pretty soon. I still cant believe she is here already, the pregnancy went so fast as well as delivery, I am just trying to savour every moment of her being this small! I am so thankful to have gone into labor on my own and a week early! I feel so fortunate to be the mom of two princesses.
Thank god for grandma, and the fact that rick has 3 wks off!!! Grandpa will be here on saturday... plenty of pictures to come!
anyhoo everyone is happy and healthy and we are just finding our new routine
peace out
