Jades 1 month present? a procedure to untie her tongue.. hmmm doesnt seem like a good present.. however it could have saved her from a possible speech problem.. and I mean really what would you do if you couldnt stick out your tongue? it would be devastating LOL Ok so one of the first things the baby nurse said in the hospital immediately after Jade was born was oh she is tongue tied.. I didnt think too much of it at the time. When she cried you could see that skin underneath her tongue was super tight and now I do think that most of my prolonged nursing "issues" were most likely because her latch wasnt that great due to this fact. Anyway yesterday at her 1mo well check up I asked the doc to take a look and he immediately said yep I am referring you to an ENT. The ENT got us in this morning! I really didnt know what to expect but as soon as he looked in he agreed! Less than 5 mins later the procedure, which is a scissor type clamp and then actual scissors that cut the skin, was complete. She cried when the clamp went on and stopped as soon as I picked her up! She was such a little champ, there was minimal bleeding and was able to nurse her as soon as I picked her up. And that was that! I should mention that Keira and Sienna did amazing too, they were ready to give their baby sis lots of kisses.. and were very happy that they got stickers and lollipops on the way out!
