the finished stack... yummySo this evening I decided since I was making dinner for just myself that I would try my hand at making crepes... my brother and his fiance are sort of known in the family for their crepes but everyonce in a while I would like to be able to make them myself. So I asked my brother Kris about their "recipe" which apparently consists of "throwing some crap in a bowl". Not generally the kind of recipe I like to use.. so I went the "traditional" route and googled basic crepe recipes.. they all had about the same ingredients just in different measurements so anyhoo I finally just chose one and got on with it. I have to tell you I was nervous since even kris a crepe expert said that the first one usually turns out like crap. Mine didnt turn out like crap so I wondered if that would be the only good pancake and then the rest would be burned! that wasnt the case.. apparently crepe making is in the blood. I even modified the recipe to fit my liking.. and it turned out fab.. Ok so now for the breath holding. Well after having a wonderful crepe dinner the girls and I headed upstairs for some serious pony partying. Keira and Sienna found themselves both wanting Pinkie Pie.. well this resulted in some serious screaming. Being the rational parent that I am I took the pony away from both of them and told them to choose a different pony from the many other ponies that we have. Well Sienna got quite upset and she is my little breath holder... well tonight she took it too the next level. I knew she was crying and throwing a fit which usually includes a moment of that silent cry where you are like ok girl breathe!! so I got up and walked away to put the pony out of sight... I turned around to see sienna still standing there mouth wide open turning purple with no sound still.. I rushed back and blew in her face I even sort of shook her arm and just kept saying breathe sienna breathe.. and then as I went to pull her onto my lap she passed out! I was in panic my baby was now limp in my arms all pale with purple lips and eyelids.. I was still trying to get her come to as I grabbed my phone to call 911. I hesitated for just a second and she came to but was really out of it.. scary!!!!!!!! She took a few minutes to come around but then pretty soon was able to get up and run off with Keira.. but I was left traumatized on my knees and decided to page the on call pediatrician. She called back so quickly and was able to reassure me that yes kids do this and as long as it was a "tantrum" and no other symptoms that she was just fine.. but I wasnt fine!!!!!! After a little meltdown and talking to my mommy I got there.. but the pediatrician was right.. Sienna is just fine.. but I am scarred for life !!! One more experience to add to the mommy resume.
