up to speed

My goodness I have alot to catch up on.... and therefore you are going to get the undetailed in a nutshell version of everything. Basically after 3 weeks of eric being here with us, it was evident that he was in need of help that we are clearly not qualified to give him, he was struggling in school, and continuing to use drugs and let them control his life. With less than a year before he would turn 18 Rick had to make the decision to send him to a school that would not only help him get his diploma, provide some serious structure, and most important of all build him back up emotionally. Its hard to imagine someone at that age who literally wants for nothing, no goals no aspirations and not even feeling they are worth anything, add drugs and a seriously poor view of others and the world in general, but we were staring it in the face and it was gut wrenching. Eric deserves to feel good about himself and deserves anything he wants in life... but he has got to want! Anyway we are positive that he is in the right place now! Rick gets to talk to him and do therapy sessions with him througout the program, so he will be a part of Erics journey. Although it is tough for Eric being completely disconnected from everything he knows, I think deep down he knows that he needs to be there. He has adjusted fairly smoothly and hopefully will keep thriving there and prove to himself how strong he is. Eric we are cheering for you!!
