Last weekend we actually convinced daddy to take a day off work! We had planned something fun to do as a family! These moments dont happen often enough :) I have heard so much about the polar express and was waiting for the when the girls seemed to be the "right" age to go. I have to say for keira and sienna the timing couldnt have been more perfect! The Polar Express takes place in Williams AZ (3 hrs from us) which also happens to be on route 66 so there is a cute little town there as well, however the polar express "experience" takes place in one hotel which is literally attached to the train station. You take the grand canyon railroad to the North Pole!! It is set up so well for kids and really organized for adults which makes it so much better! On board the kids get hot chocolate and cookies then get to meet santa and then have a sing a long on the ride back to the hotel. It is very short and sweet.. except when you are sick as all hell and feel like you are going to die on the train during the sing a long.. which by this point the kids are wired and armed with the jingle bells that santa gave them, the train is steamed up, and the singing is ..well terrible. yes I was sick :( LOL anyhoo you cant plan for these things and most importantly the girls had a blast.. Jade was for sure too young for the whole thing and for sure kept rick busy since she had no interest in just sitting nicely :) she is just not the sit nicely sort of kid! Which is of course why we love her! It was only a 24hr getaway for us, but being in the snow and completely disconnected was fantastic and rejuvenating in some way..despite the fact that I didnt sleep a wink but everyone else did LOL Anyway check out the million pics from that experience!
